Introduction
On 4-Aug-2007 I joined
Karta Technologies Inc..
as a Technical Project Manager. The project seemed interesting as it
was a project to migrate or move legacy applications to a more
modern environment.
The Company

My Position at Karta.
On 4-Aug-2007 I joined Karta.
I report directly to the Site Project Manager and am responsibile
for the technical delivery of maintenance and development tasks
according to approved schedule and budget. I have policy and process
implementation responsibility across all of the project systems. I
coordinate the activities of the Software Engineers,
System Engineer/Architect, and Operation Support Specialists.
My specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical guidance to the staff.
- Ensure that project schedule milestones are being met.
- Oversee the deployment of resources across the project systems.
- Work closely with the Site Project Manager for proper allocation of leveraged resources to the project.
- Coordinate the scheduling of all technical meetings and audits for purposes of configuration management.
- Ensure technical staff follows defined processes and complete record keeping responsibilities for metrics collection.
- Ensure that both project-training needs are being met and work closely with staff through performance reviews to identify career training needs.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Site Project Manager.
The Future
On February 29, 2008 the project was "de-scoped", which means it lost
its funding. In other words a new chapter has started for me and
we'll see how it goes...
